Christmas camps in Spain 2026/27: Navidad holidays, dates and what to book
Christmas camps in Spain 2026/27: when the school holidays are, what kinds of Navidad camps exist, where to look, prices and when to check dates.
Spain has far fewer camps at Christmas than in summer, but they exist, and for families who spend the holidays on the coast or the islands they are a real help. This guide explains when the Christmas holidays 2026/27 fall, what is on offer and how to plan.
Christmas 2026/27: the dates
Christmas Day 2026 is on Friday 25 December, New Year’s Day on Friday 1 January and Epiphany (Reyes, 6 January) on Wednesday. In Spain the big family celebrations are Nochebuena (24 December), Nochevieja (31 December) and the Reyes Magos parades on the evening of 5 January.
School holidays are set by each autonomous community. In general, children are off school from around 22–23 December until 7 January, with small differences between regions. Check the official school calendar (calendario escolar) of the region you are visiting. Camps usually run on the working days of the break, for example 21–23 December, 28–30 December and 4–5 January, and are closed on 24–25 and 31 December and 1 and 6 January.
What types of Christmas camps exist
In our catalogue, 99 camps have sessions between 19 December and 7 January. They come in several formats:
- Full-day camps: 39
- Morning (half-day) camps: 32
- Single days or flexible blocks: 17
- Residential camps: 9
- Family programmes: 1
- Afternoon camps: 1
By activity, the most common are art and crafts (28 camps) and multisport (24), followed by sailing (15), football and nature (14 each), tennis (11), languages (10), adventure and surf (9 each), and STEM and robotics, padel and swimming (8 each). Typical Christmas formats are a campus de Navidad run by a football or tennis club, a day camp with English and crafts, and water sports on the Canary Islands and the Balearics, where the weather allows it.
Where to look
Christmas camps in our catalogue are in Catalonia (Barcelona, Terrassa, Sant Cugat, Castelldefels, Girona), Madrid, Andalusia (Málaga, Sevilla and Córdoba province), the north (Bilbao, Arrasate-Mondragón, Pamplona), the Canary Islands (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Tenerife: Costa Adeje, El Médano, Playa de las Américas, and Lanzarote), the Balearic Islands (Mallorca: Manacor, Palma, S’Arenal, and Menorca), and Elche, Santa Pola and Pechina (Almería). Many municipal Christmas camps (Madrid districts, Bilbao, Pamplona, Córdoba province) are only for children registered or schooled locally, so check eligibility with the organiser. Use the Christmas filter on the region pages to see only camps with sessions in the holidays.
Prices
Only a few Christmas camps publish a price: among the 14 with a weekly price, the median is about 175 € (from about 27 € to 545 €), and among the 9 with a day price, the median is about 42 € (from about 10 €). Most prices on our site come from the 2026 summer or the previous season, and are marked as such. Treat them as a guide and confirm the Christmas price with the organiser.
When to book
Christmas camps are small and often fill up in November and early December, and many organisers publish their dates only in the autumn. Our data for Christmas is partly provisional:
- Dates published by the organiser: 40 camps. Reliable, but still check
- Dates as a typical week: 32 camps. A guide only, shown as a normal Christmas week
- Dates as last season: 27 camps. Moved to the same weekday in 2026
Our weekly robot checks organisers’ sites, so these numbers change as new dates appear.
Tips for planning Christmas with kids
- Check the holiday dates of the region you are visiting, which may differ from your home country’s
- Choose a morning camp if you want afternoons for family time, markets and the Three Kings parade
- Ask whether lunch is included, or whether your child should bring a packed lunch
- Pack for variable weather: Spain is mild on the coast but cold in the mountains and in Madrid
- For residential camps in winter, ask about heating and clothing
What to ask the organiser
- Exact dates and hours, including which days between 24 December and 6 January the camp is open
- Age groups and whether the programme is open to visitors, not only to local children
- Language of the staff, if your child does not speak Spanish: see camps for children without Spanish
- The price, the deposit and the cancellation conditions
Remember that we do not take bookings: every camp page links to the organiser’s official site, where you confirm the dates and book.
